Tonghung-San

The 319 meters high Tonghung Mountain is in the Tonghungsan District, an area where ther is also a lot of industry. On the mountain are a number of historical buildings.

Kuchon Pavilion On top of the mountain is this pavilion that once was the command post of the walled city of Hamhung. It dates from 1108, in Koryo, but was rebuilt in 1713 during the Li Dynasty and given the name Puksang Pavilion. From the old city walls of 1108 there are still so remnants.

Sonhwa Hall On the southern slope of Tonghun Mountain is Sonhwa Hall, dating from 1416, but rebuild in 1764. It also has the Chingchong Pavilion.

Majon Park

In Majon-dong, 25 km southeast of Hamhung, is this 300 ha big pleasure park, meant for selected groups of Koreans.
